White Sox -outfielder returns after an “incredibly frustrating” injury

Chicago – General Manager Chris Getz said that the White Sox could be the healthiest that they were into the game on Friday throughout the season.

A big reason for this is Mike Tauchman's return. The outfield started the season on the injured list and only took three games before another injury. On April 9th in Cleveland, Tauchman suffered a right thigh load as a rounded third basis to tie the game. He was marked at home for the final from a 3-2 defeat against the guardians.

Although it was not the start of the season he wanted, Tauchman is happy to be back.

“It was incredibly frustrating,” said Tauchman. “You have invested a lot of time, put a lot of victims in preparing for a season, and it is something that I am a lot proud in. So it was really difficult. Then you think you are over the hump and then a setback and have to start again if you were fusing. “

Tauchman compared his second rehab task with another spring training. In addition to his thighs, he had to relax completely and had to work through the general pain that goes hand in hand with the non -match for about a month. To get over this feeling and to be able to play for several days in a row helped him know when he was ready to return.

Tauchman was back with Triple-A Charlotte on May 10th and played in eight rehabilitation games. With 33 record appearances, he scored three goals, an RBI, three walks and eleven strikeouts.

“I feel good. Yes, I'm looking forward to it,” said Tauchman. “I had a little long rehab this time, so I tried to build part of this workload and I feel ready to go.”

Although Tauchman only played three games for the White Sox between the stints on the injured list, he maximized his chances with four goals in 12 record appearances. In 350 record appearances with the Cubs in 2024, he achieved seven homes and 29 RBI, while he lowered .248/.366/.723.

In his first game on Friday he played the right field, scored second place in the order and went 1-3 with a run and a walk. He also made a catch when he ran into the right field rail.

“Only professional bats. We saw that from the first day,” said White Sox Manager Venable. “Very selectively on the plate, while he is aggressive at the same time and does the ball hard. We expect it. Right again at the top of the line -up. Look forward to having it there.”
