A passenger in the Jim Clark rally was killed in the Scottish borders in an accident at the event.

Rescue services were called to the incident at the event near Duns around 10:50 a.m.

The 39-year-old man was declared dead at the crime scene. The 27-year-old driver was brought to the royal infirmary of Edinburgh with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The organizers, the Jim Clark Memorial Motor Club, said the rest of the event and Jim Clark Uvers Rally on Sunday were canceled.

Police Sottland said that nobody was injured in the crash and that the inquiries have not yet been completed.

Supt Vincent Fisher said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died, and the inquiries are still used to determine the full circumstances.”

In 2014, three spectators were killed at the rally when a car that took part in the event entered a view area.
