Dallas Stars Livid after the injury to Key Forward

In no time at all, the night of the Dallas Stars on Friday from bad to worse.

At the beginning of the third period of the second game of the Western Conference final, Stars Forward Roope Hintz took a malignant slash from Edmonton Oilers Defenseman Darnell Nurse on his lower left leg and needed help with descending from the ice. While officials checked the play for a great punishment, they ultimately decided to give nurse a two -minute minor.

Hintz did not return for the rest of the game when the Oilers won 1-1 with 3-0 for the series.

After the game, the Stars head coach Peter Deboer was absolutely angry because of the lack of a great punishment and answered his own when asked by a reporter.

“Does anyone in this room believe that Connor McDavid is worn by the ice that it is not a five -minute major? That is my answer to her question,” Deboer told reporters.

Captain Jamie Benn made a similar remark and also brought McDavid into battle.

“We didn't like it. If the McDavid were going down the tunnel, I would like to see the result of it,” said Benn.

As Darren Dreger emphasized by TSN, the NHL rule book calls for a greater punishment and misconduct of a game if an injury occurs due to an inclined. So it is easy to see why the stars were not only satisfied with the small punishment.

The 30-year-old nurse was suspended at the end of the regular season on April 14th for the review of Los Angeles King's striker Quinton Byfield. The Veteran Blue-Liner has five points in 13 games in this off-season (two goals, three templates).

Game 3 of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on the Rogers Place in Edmonton, and the stars will certainly not forget this piece.

“A lot of this stuff, they just stay in the back of their head, and if the opportunity is offered, take their opportunity,” striker Mason Marchment told reporters. “We have a long series here.”
