Red SOX call the Superstar view Marcelo Mayer after Alex Bregman's injury: Report

Two below, one.

In the 2025 season, the Boston Red Sox had a “Big Three” of top prospects that fans had over the moon. This included the second Baseman Kristian Campbell, the Shortstop Marcelo Mayer and the Outfield Roman Anthony.

Campbell has been in the BIG League club since the opening day. But because of the position of Red Sox, Mayer and Anthony had been stuck in Triple-A, although both of them had set out outstanding figures to start the season.

All of this changed when superstar Alex Bregman's third Baseman suffered a quad injury on Friday. It seems that the two-time all-star goes to the injured list, and his absence has left an opening for the Red Sox to bring Mayer to the show.

The Red Sox Mayer called on Saturday to make his debut in the Major League, as several reports. Katie Morrison O'Day from Masslive first reported that the 22-year-old received congratulations in the clubhouse of Worcester Red Sox, then Christopher Smith from Masslive confirmed that the boy drove to Fenway Park.

At the time of publication, no official announcement of Bregman was made on the list of the injured list, which would be as a counter material for Mayer, which joins the active squad.

In 43 games with Triple-A Worcester this season, Mayer .271/.347/.471 slapped. He hit nine homes and collected impressive 43 RBI to lead all international league rackets.

Mayer is classified as the second best perspective in the Red Sox system of MLB pipeline and the eight best in the entire baseball. Anthony, a 21-year-old outfield, is number one in both the Boston system and in the entire sport.

The Red Sox will play the second game of a day-night double header against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday at 6:35 p.m. when Mayer could give his highly awaited major League debut.
