Marcelo Mayer was called up by Red Sox in the middle of Alex Bregman's injury, which was discontinued for the MLB debut

In a step that is probably signaling that Alex Bregman is on the injured list due to a quad injury, the Boston Red Sox Marcelo Mayer from Triple-A bring the Star Prospect.

According to Katie Morrison-o'day from Masslive.com, Mayer received congratulations from his Worcester teammates, which pointed out that he was called.

The 22-year-old was selected with number 4 in the overall selection in the 2021 MLB design. He achieved a steady increase through the minors, spent all in 2024 in Double-A and started in Triple-A this season.

In 43 games with Worcester, Mayer meets nine Homern in 170 bats with nine homers. He primarily played Shortstop, but was also used on the second and third base this season.
