Roy Keane “” leaked his first man Utd Payslip “

The former captain of Manchester United, Roy Keane, once revealed exactly how much he deserved when he joined the club, and even opened up to avert an offer from another top page.

The 53 -year -old Keane came from Nottingham Forest to Sir Alex Fergusons Manchester United in 1993 and had to compete with Paul Ince and Bryan Robson, who had set up a solid partnership in central midfield.

Robson, who approached the end of his career, fought injuries in the 1993/94 season. Keane appeared and made the position his own.

This season Keane won his first Premier League title, but his career could have taken a different way if he had followed the money.

As is well known, Keane had an oral agreement with Sir Kenny Dalglish to join Blackburn Rovers. But no contract was signed, and Keane chose United instead, although the former Ireland claimed internationally that Rovers had offered more money to him.

“I was about 250,000 pounds (per year) in Forest, which was good business, Blackburn offered me £ 400,000 a year,” said Keane during a lecture in Northern Ireland in 2017 [quotes relayed by JOE].

“She [Man Utd] offered me £ 300,000 thousand a year.

“It was important because this is the business side of football, and I immediately learned from Man United that it was also a business.

“I think it is not a massive climb (from your wages in the forest), especially when you consider that it will be a transfer record. So you stay a little and pull the heels.”

The 53-year-old then revealed that United finally offered £ 350,000 a year and agreed to pay forest 3.75 million GBP.

The right decision was too United because during his 12-year stay in Old Trafford he won seven titles from Premier League, four FA Cups and the UEFA Champions League.

Although he has admitted since then that he “lay” about the situation between him and Dalglish.

During an episode of overlap in 2023, Keane said: “I was lucky enough to have one or two options. I shaken my hand and said:” Listen, I will come. “I think the contract was basically agreed.

“I returned to Ireland and received a call from United. The mistake I made was, I would sign. Obviously, I didn't regret signing for United.”

He added: “Everyone thinks that Kenny is a really nice guy. He called me and obviously the news rose that I didn't go to Blackburn.

He said, 'listen, I'm not happy. You shaken your hand. I said, “Sorry, Kenny and Blah, Blah, Blah. Listen that I will go on my vacation tomorrow.” I went to Ayia Napa.

“I swear, he said:” I will find you there. “To be honest, in the next two weeks I will be in Ayia Napa and in every bar where I look over my shoulder.
