Trump envoys a new Syrian President for “Counter-Isis Measures” | Trump Administration

Donald Trump's old friend Thomas Barrack, who now served as a US ambassador in Turkey and special representative for Syria, praised Ahmed al-Sharaa after a meeting in Istanbul on Saturday in Istanbul.

“I emphasized that the attitude of the sanctions against Syria will provide the integrity of our main goal of ISIS and give the people of Syria a chance for a better future,” said Barrack in an explanation in which the measures taken on Friday temporarily imposed on the government on imposed regions of the government, which were imposed by the government.

Syria has been under US sanctions since 1979, which intensified by Assad after the fatal approach of the peaceful demonstrators by 2011.

“I also praised President Al-Sharaa to take sensible steps to enact President Trump's points on foreign terrorist fighters, measures to counterize, relationships with Israel as well as warehouse and detention centers,” added Barrack.

These conditions brought Sharaa into the position of limiting his former allies. Sharaa, an Islamist rebel, initially came to Syria from Iraq to combat Assad with the support of the Islamic State, but later collapsed with the group and promised al-Qaida. He also broke in 2016 with al-Qaida.

His militant group, the Al-Nusra front, was renamed twice and was Hayat Tahrir al-Sham or HTS in 2017.

“President Al-Sharaa praised America's quick measures to pick up sanctions,” said Trump's envoy after the talks on Saturday.

“This meeting was historical and asked the question of sanctions – as President Trump indicated – far behind us and led to a joint commitment of our two countries, quickly, with investments, development and worldwide branding of a new, welcome Syria without sanctions.”

The now possible projects include a Trump Tower Damascus, which was proposed as part of an endeavor to arrange for the US president to remove sanctions. Trump himself seems to have been impressed by a meeting that was recently met with al-Sharaa in Saudi Arabia; The US President said reporters that the former commander of Al-Qaida's franchise in Syria was a “young, attractive type, hard guy, you know, strong past. Very strong past. Fighters.”

Barrack, who was charged by the Ministry of Justice in 2021 and was promoted because of “illegal efforts, the interests of the United Arab Emirates” during the first Trump government, was acquitted according to a federal proceedings in 2022.
