Penske Nascar Champ says “We have to go forward” to IndyCar scandal

The most recent controversy of the damping controversy in the Indy 500 has shaken the foundation of Team Penske. Three leaders from IndyCar were released, and two of the three IndyCar teams were punished. But how does this affect the Nascar page of the Penske garage?

Penske drives three full-time cars in the Cup series with Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano and Austin Cindric. The NASCAR operation won the last three titles in a row in Cup Series and took part in Coca-Cola 600 this weekend on the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Logano: “Obviously it becomes us (we look out)”

When asked about the IndyCar situation, the three-time and defending champion of the Nascar Cup series, Logano, “We are all a team” at Penske said. For example, take a look at the color schemes this weekend, since both Logano and Indy 500 Starter Scott McLaughlin with Pennzoil -Sponsoring will perform identical “Yellow Submarine” liveries.

He continued: “So I always saw it. That's why we love to support what the IndyCar boys do every week and vice versa.

At the beginning of this week, Roger Penske spoke directly on this topic in an exclusive interview with Indycar on Fox and gave an open attitude to what was going on and the decision to publish three important members of the organization. Logano believes that he summarized it well and revealed that Penske visited the entire racing team after the controversy.

“I think Roger's comments during the sitdown with Jamie (Little) was everything we had to hear,” said Logano. “Roger came to visit us all. He visited the driver and crew leader, but then visited the entire team in a Roger type, was how they would expect. At this point it is unfortunate, but we have to go forward.

But it is probably more difficult for Austin who has a family connection to the Indycar scandal, since his father Tim Cindric, who has been with Penske since 1999, was one of those who were rejected by Roger von Roger on Wednesday.

Cindric answered a question from NBCS Dustin Long in a media crum on Saturday and gave his thoughts on this topic. “When the family is involved, they have to understand it from both sides,” said Cindric. “From every step of the way, since I started the race for the team in 2018, I have the feeling that I have been involved between me, my pops, Roger and most – I have the feeling that we have done a pretty good job to separate personal life and professional life, and I see it as not.

“Racing can be a cruel industry. It can be an incredibly worthwhile industry, and that's not something I weigh for this weekend. And for my pops I love my father and that is a kind of everything I have to say about it.

In the Cola 600, Cindric is the highest pensioner driver in 14th place. Logano will start on 16th and Blaney 21. On the Indycar page, McLaughlin starts tenth place for the 109th run of the Indy 500, while Josef Neawarden 32nd and wants 33rd (last) after her punishment.
