One person killed and four injured in Chester House Party Shooting

A 16-year-old boy was killed and four people were injured after several shots had expired shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday at a house party in the city of Chester, the police said.

No arrests were reported on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Evidence at the crime scene suggested an exchange of shots, said the police and added that two neighboring apartments were also hit, but no residents were injured.

The teenager was no longer reacted to the front steps of a house in the 200 block of the East 10th Street and suffered from gunshot wounds, the police said. He was declared dead at the crime scene.

Three additional victims – at the age of 26, 16 and 25 – were discovered in the house and suffered from gunshot wounds. Doctors brought them to the Christiana Hospital in Newark, del., And children's hospital in Philadelphia for treatment. Their conditions were not available on Saturday.

A fifth victim at the age of 21 was discovered in front of the house with a wavy wound on the upper back.

The police said that the person was treated at the crime scene and reported that a dark sedan was seen with tinted windows in the area around the time of the shootout, but little else.

The officials recovered a pistol near the floor of the steps in the living room of the house and later a second firearm in the basement, the police said.

“This heartbreaking violence is a painful memory that we have to come together as a community to protect our neighborhoods and our youth,” said Stefan Roots, Mayor of the City of Delaware County.

He added that the city “did not taul while senseless acts of gun violence deprive of families of their relatives.”
