Sam Surridge scores twice in the second half and leads Nashville past Toronto with 2-1

Toronto (AP) -Sam Surridge scored two goals in the second half and Nashville SC found a 2-1 win against Toronto FC on Saturday and extended his unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions (6-0-2).

Nashville (8-4-3, 27 points) took the lead 1-0 in the 57th minute. Andy Najar sent a long ball to Hany Mukhtar behind the defense of Toronto. The former MLS MVP cleverly ran the ball over the goal so that Surridge knocked home for his seventh season.

Surridge scored 2-0 in the 89th minute before the captain of Toronto, Jonathan Osorio, returned from an injury, to add to injury.

It was the 50th career goal of Osorio together with 53 templates.

Nashville exceeded Toronto 15-10 with six goals for Toronto (3-8-4, 13 points).

Both teams play on Wednesday. Nashville visits the Columbus crew and Toronto organizes the Philadelphia Union.
