Forensic Labs Power Up against organized crimes | Lucknow News

Lucknow: In a big step towards justice through scientific precision, the Yogi government has revised its forensic infrastructure. This enables law enforcement with stronger evidence and enables harder measures against criminals as part of his zero tolerance policy. In the past eight years, Uttar Pradesh has set up state -of -the -art forensic laboratories that were largely to secure convictions in over 75,000 cases. These facilities ensured that even hardened criminals and mafia – once acquitted due to lack of evidence – have now been exposed to the full power of the law. Before 2017, the state had only four forensic laboratories in Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Ghaziad, which restricted access to forensic tests in many districts. Under the leadership of CM Yogi, however, eight new laboratories in Jhansi, Kannauj, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Gonda, Aligarh and Moradabad were set up, which transmit the total number of total number to 12.Another expansion is already underway, with six other laboratories in Ayodhya, Barleilly, Banda, Azamgarh, Mirzapur and Saharan track to be developed quickly to expand scientific support for every region of the state. This forensic thrust has a direct impact on the pace and quality of criminal investigations and law enforcement measures. Compared to 2022, 2023 recorded a significant increase in the number of cases dissolved in forensic laboratories. After its zero tolerance policy towards crime, the yogi government also reached several important milestones and achieved national recognition for their efforts. Uttar Pradesh is now connected to a high-speed fingerprint database server under the national automated fingerprint identification system (NAFIS). According to the NCRB in Neu -Delhi, the state is now in the country in the registration of fingerprints. So far, over 4.14 LAKH fingerprints have been successfully registered. This reflects the effective use of UP technology in order to collect evidence and build digital criminal records. The investigation is now faster and the control of crime has improved significantly. The yogi government also strengthened coordination with the Center for Nafis operations and enabled real-time fingerprint analysis in all districts via a server at state level. New technologies were also used to analyze biological samples based on the latest standards such as BNS, BNSS and BSA-2023 and to improve the validity and reliability of evidence.
