Shooting with several victims near the academy and the Palmer Park in Colorado Springs | Crimes and justice

Several people were shot near the Rustic Hills Shopping Center in Colorado Springs on Saturday evening.

The police confirmed several victims; The exact number and their conditions were not known from 11 p.m.

The first call for service took place around 10:12 p.m. in the Olympic Garden apartments in the 1400 block of the Potter Drive south of the Palmer Park Boulevard. The apartments are opposite the shopping center.

The shopping center is home to a whirrel entertainment center. Videos that circulate on social media on Saturday evening showed the parking lot and the surrounding area, which were cordoned off by police band. The whirlpool website shows that it was open on Saturday at 11 p.m.

In a post on X, the Colorado Springs Police & Fire Communications Center reported that Potter Drive was closed in both directions between the Palmer Park Boulevard and the East San Miguel Street.

The police asked the public to avoid the area.
