Gwyneth Keyworth is a Superfan -Sleuth in Britboxs 'Death Valley'

The “Death Valley” comes from Wales on Thursday, Britbox's latest strange duo that is crime -dissolving.

Of course they are a committed, albeit something strange. John Chapel (Timothy Spall) is a retired actor who is still admired (and recognized) as a star of “Caesar”, a detective series.

He is recruited (unofficially) by the young Welsh detective sergeant Janie Mallowan (Gwyneth Keyworth), who is smacking to meet her favorite TV detective, and sees that his acting at work has made him a valuable cohort.

Spall, among the most revered actors in England, has a ball that sends the Thespian accusation. Janie doesn't even try to be a wrong blasé when you meet.

“You can say exactly what you think of your face,” admitted the 34 -year -old Keyworth in a video interview from Great Britain. “It can literally be read like an open book.”

Keyworth is a classically trained Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Grade, which played the leading role as a scout in the Westend's “To Kill a Mockingbird” with Rafe Spall as Atticus Finch (yes, Timothy's son).

She felt an immediate affinity with Janie Mallowan. “When I read the part I was, it feels like I'm doing it.”

At the beginning of the series, Janies concluded her personal life to hide from grief. “In the first episode, she literally talks about grief as something that she puts away and store in the attic: just don't think about it.

“But as we know with life, you can't do that. With her friendship with John Chapel, she again covers her own emotional self -confidence.”

Janie is a comedy that is a “Caesar” fan who has seen every episode. “It was her comfort ceiling. A show like 'Gilmore Girls' that you will watch over and over again.

“When she hits John Chapel, she did not quite connect that he is the guy from the show with which she spent many hours. But there is part of her brain that is:” He is a stranger and in fact you should do a job “and part of your brain that is:” Oh, my god. It is your hero. “

“And he completely overtakes her, which she regrets a little in the course of the series and the John Chapel keeps penetrating in her cases. It becomes a really funny dynamic.

“And yes, she lives with her mother. A large part of it is a bit of an excuse for Janie, who does not yet have the skills to live alone.

“Because she is still not doing well. She didn't wear the death of her best friend. So in her professional life she is at the top of her game. But in her personal life she is a bit of a teenager.”

Britbox streams the first two episodes of “Death Valley” May 29th May 29th
