Criminal police app for Torbay companies started

Companies in Torbay are offered an app to combat retail crime.

The UK app and the website of the British partners against crime (UKPAC) enable companies to report shoplifting, anti-social behavior and violence that is shared with the police so that they can target problems and pursue repeat offenders.

A free one -year -old pilot is financed by the police and the office of the police officer of Devon and Cornwall. After that, companies can register a subscription of 20 GBP per month.

The Devon and Cornwall police reported an increase in shop theft of 37.9% in the entire Force area, which included Torbay from 5,567 crimes in 2022 to 7,677 in 2023.

Torquay Insp Rob Harvey said that the troop is “looking forward to working with Ukpac to send a clear message that crime against company in Torbay is not tolerated”.

“We would like to react to the crimes and problems that cause the greatest damage to our community.
