NSA Head Mike Waltz and Deputy leave the posts weeks after the signal gate scandal

President Donald Trump's national security advisor, Mike Waltz and his deputy, leave their posts just a few weeks after the signal gate scandal.

Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong will leave their roles, Sources told CBS News, and Waltz was “made clear” at the beginning of this week that his time had ended at the end of the National Security Council, reported CNN.

President Donald Trump publicly supported Waltz after the signal gate scandal was broken and said he was “a very good man”.

The Press spokesman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, repeated in an explanation at the time that the president “has the greatest trust in Mike Waltz and his entire national security team”.

Waltz created the first chat of the signal group and accidentally added a journalist from the Atlantic. Defense Minister Pete Hegseth shared war plans in the app with the group.

Waltz said he took responsibility for the gaffe at that time.

Sources said CNN that Waltz from the signal gate scandal was “never really recovered”.
