The dark scandals of Vietnam's beauty queens

Before the shocking arrest of Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, several Vietnamese beauty queens were involved in criminal investigations, which included indictment for prostitution brokers.

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien: Suspect from the international beauty queen to customer fraud

Fräulein Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (born 1998) was recently arrested in a criminal proceedings by the Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security for “deceptive customers” as a co -snack in a law enforcement case.

The case revolves around a dietary addition, which is known as Kera Vegetable Sweets, a product that was developed and promoted in collaboration with the shareholders of Thuy Tien's shareholders. Tien kept a share of 30% and received profits accordingly.

The investigators found that the company sold over 135,000 boxes of the Ker Candy and earned almost 18 billion and (approx. 720,000 USD). Thuy Tien himself received almost 7 billion and (around $ 280,000) in commissions.

VO Thi My Xuan: Former beauty queen became a high-end prostitution broker

In 2012, the public was stunned when VO Thi My Xuan (born 1983), who was crowned Miss Nam Mekong in 2009, was arrested for “prostitution brokerage”. She was identified as one of the leaders of a sex trade with models and beauty queens, with transactions reaching thousands of US dollars.

During her court proceedings in 2013, my Xuan informed the court that financial difficulties had pushed her into illegal business, and later recruited friends and colleagues. The court sentenced them to two years and six months in prison.

Truong Thi Tuyet NGA: The fraud in the real estate moment of real estate

Truong Thi Tuyet NGA, the successful businesswoman Ms. Vietnam 2009 ( * 1961) was crowned, was once considered the ideal entrepreneur. In 2013, however, she was arrested and prosecuted for “fraudulent appropriation of property”.

In a 2016 trial, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court ruled that Tuyet NGA had cheated a victim named L. by a real estate program of USD 3.1 million. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered the victim to have derived partially during the investigation after deducting a partial reimbursement.

In 2017, the High People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City confirmed the original judgment after rejecting Tuyet NGA's appeal.

THPN: A fallen Miss Vietnam in Russia involved in scandal

Fräulein Vietnam in Russia 2007, THPN (born 1987), was at the center of a sensational controversy about the “romantic contract”. Together with her employee D., she was accused of betrayed a man named M. of 16.5 billion and (around USD 660,000) in a real estate contract in 2012.

Both were arrested by the Ho Chi Minh City police in March 2015. During the first legal proceedings in 2016, N. claimed that the money was given to her as part of a mutual relationship.

In 2019, the police officially dropped the case after the investigation had not proven the allegations of fraud. However, the scandal effectively ended her career.
