The 17-year-old girl who was injured when the policeman in San Bernardino brings her to the ground during her arrest.

A video published in social media shows a 17-year-old girl who is freaked out onto the sidewalk by a police officer in San Bernardino.

The San Bernardino police arrested the girl on Wednesday, May 21, outside of a grocery store in the 500 block of the West 2nd Street in San Bernardino. According to a police statement, the girl was arrested for suspicion, “entering and trying to fight others”.

The video of the scene published in the social media shows an officer who urges the girl down to the sidewalk in the parking lot.

“The officer could only put one of her hands in cuffs when she acted actively and tried to go from the officer when a takedown maneuver was used,” said the police in a statement.

The girl was identified as Erin during a press conference on Sunday.

Her family demanded that Bodycam film material be released and an independent examination is carried out by the Attorney General California.

In the video of the arrest, as the person who records the video, asks one of the officers for his award number, the officer can be seen how he pulls out a baton and asks the person to support himself.

During the press conference on Sunday, Erin, her parents, her grandmother and a local activist spoke about the arrest, the use of violence and her injuries.

“I am injured everywhere, my head, my whole body – I am not the same person I was,” said Erin during the press conference, which was shown at stations, including ABC7.

Her injuries, a cut on her chin that her mother says, required stitches, and a scratch on the side of her face can be seen as she speaks. Her wrist was distributed and she passed out for a while, her family said during the press conference. The police declaration confirmed that she was taken to a hospital for a medical examination and that she “suffered an injury to her chin, scratched her cheek and complained about pain”.

Her family said sender that she was in the grocery store with a group when another group of teenagers jumped on her.

“She was the only imprisonment,” said her grandmother Rhonda Taylor.

The San Bernardino police say that the application of violence is currently being checked, first by a manager and then in an “administrative review process”, which represents the department directive for the application of violence.
