Is Anthony Edwards the best player in the NBA today?

Is Minnesota Timberwolves Guard Anthony Edwards the best NBA player in the league today?

After the final of the Western Conference in 2024, the Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs are again on the move when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in five games on Wednesday. Anthony Edwards was the star of the series after exceeding Lebron James and Luka Doncic. So the question begins: Is Edwards the best player in the NBA today?

The short answer is probably no. Nikola Jokic is certainly one of the top players in the league and is on the right track to be the best one ever. To scream loudly, the guy achieved an average of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists this season. Not to mention that he also has an NBA championship to his name. Something that Edwards does not yet have.

The list continues with other names that are certainly controversial. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored an average of over 30 points per game this season. Names like Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Steph Curry. Even a guy like Victory Wembanyama takes a break for this conversation.

Edwards may not be the best player in the league today, but it shouldn't be a shock for anyone if he will be in the near future. This season he scored the fourth highest points in the league this season. It is a 3-fold all-star selection, has achieved an average of 25 points per game in the last two seasons and builds a list of NBA stars that he knocked out of the NBA playoffs. It was Durant and Jokic last year and now it is LeBron and Doncic this year. Oh, and have I already mentioned that he is only 23 years old?

At least it's nice and easy to express it in this way without smashing feathers. The Minnesota Timberwolves met a Homerun by first designing Edwards. Without a doubt, he is one of the best players in the NBA today and he is on the right track to be an all -time legend in sports.
