President Trump said on Thursday that he was nominating his national security advisor Mike Waltz as his ambassador at the United Nations in the first major distribution of top helpers since Trump since Trump.

Trump said on social media that he would make Marco Rubio his preliminary national security advisor – a role that will be taken on his existing job, Foreign Minister.

Waltz must be confirmed by the US Senate for the UN position. “I feel very honored to continue my service to President Trump and our great nation,” he said on social media.

The UN spot has been free since Trump has asked its first candidate, Rep. Elise Stefanik, Rn.Y., to stay in congress instead in order to preserve the close majority of Republicans in the House of Representatives.

Waltz has come under pressure since March when he accidentally invited A journalist in a private text chat Among the top officials who discuss military plans for US strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

Trump initially downplayed Waltz – who took responsibility for the mishap – the incident as a “breakdown”. In his announcement on Thursday, he was free of charge from Waltz and said that he “worked hard to put the interests of our nation in the first place”.

Trump said The Atlantic In an interview last week that “Waltz goes well” when asked about his future. “I think we learned: 'Maybe don't use a signal, okay?' If you want to know the truth.

But Trump supported other top helpers for national security problems such as conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza and talks to Iran, also with Iran Middle Eastern Steve WitkoffFinance minister Scott Bessent as well as foreign minister Marco Rubio.

The announcement was made after hours of rumors that Waltz left his position – and while Rubios spokeswoman Tammy Bruce reporter informed in the Foreign Ministry. “We have to admit that this last 100 days – it is as if you are capturing a damn ball train,” Bruce told reporters.

Waltz was the first green basket cap that was chosen in the congress, where he served three terms of office for East Central Florida in the House of Representatives.

Waltz, who was known as the National Security Hawk, had a uphill street to climb in Trump's circle. He has long been a advocate of sanctions against Russia and never seemed to be entirely to coordinate Trump's approach in Moscow and other opponents.

Before Waltz took over the White House's job, he was chairman of the subcommittee for the willingness of the house of the House Armed Services and member of the House Foreign Affair Committee and the constant selection committee for secret service.
