FHP has been using marked semi trucks for patrols since 2014.

The FHP lieutenant Derrick A. Rahming Sr. told CDLIFE that “the FHP office for commercial vehicle enforcement (CVE) has 3 marked half-strips. The half-trucks are used in various capacities, including data traffic enforcement.”

“A sworn soldier with the necessary confirmation observes how commercial motor vehicle operators aggressively drive and drives on the left lane, used a mobile phone, close, do not wear a seat belt, and other different traffic violations against federal regulations and Florida laws.

Florida is not the only state with marked Trooper trucks. The Tennessee State Patrol has had its own custom Peterbilt for several years. They use it as an educational instrument and in their enforcement efforts.
