Hallmark star Noel Johansen mourns the loss of his wife Jen Darbellay.

The 50 -year -old Darbellay was killed in Vancouver on Saturday, April 26, as an SUV drove into a lot that celebrated the Filipino culture at a Lapu -Lapu festival. In an interview with Global News CanadaJohansen remembered crutches of his late wife.

A Gofundme set up by the close friend of the actor describes Darbellay as “unique”.

“She was an incredibly thoughtful, warm, caring, clever, stylish, artistic woman,” says the message. “A talented painter, a selfless mother and a loving woman. She gave the best hugs, was always there to listen to without judgment, and had the sweetest voice. She was not only for me and my family (wife and children), but was also something special for many other friends and people.”

Darbellay was one of 11 people who died on Saturday, April 26, when 30-year-old Kai-Ji Adam Lo supposedly drove his car through a lot at high speed and several participants beat Lapu Lapu Day Street Festival. The next day he was charged with the eight murder of second degree in relation to the attack.

People previously reported that Lo was “known” to the police and had “a significant story of interactions with police and health professions in connection with mental health”.

In a statement on X, the police authority in Vancouver confirmed that the dead were between 5 and 65 years old. According to the BBC, the attack also “injured more than two dozen others”.
