County carries out live video chat to improve the emergency reaction

Stuart, Florida – A new program created by Martin County Dispatchers aims to improve the emergency reaction and offer first aid live stream of the emergency scene.

The function called Citizen Input enables 911 calls to share live videos directly with dispatchers from your telephones.

The system that went live on Thursday enables the Martin County's sheriff office, the Fire Rescue and the Stuart police in real time in real time.

“When these 911 calls come in, our shipping can send a link to the caller, which basically puts you in a live feed,” said Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek.

As soon as a caller clicks on the link sent by SMS, dispatchers can display the scene via the caller's camera and even share the feed with the response.

“It definitely links the response time when civil servants go out and it gives us a clear picture of what is going on in the eyes of the civilians,” said Kasey Munt, Public Safety Telecommunicator of the Sheriff office by Martin County. “If someone is in a situation in which they cannot think clearly, we somehow like a second eye.”

Sheriff Budensiek added, “[It] Allows us to react more appropriately and safely to these incidents. “

To use the function, callers only need a smartphone with an internet connection and a functioning camera. Sheriff Budensiek emphasized that the citizens' entry would not be used in situations in which someone could expose a higher risk.

The residents of Martin County have “key pieces” to solve crimes

Residents who spoke WPTV spoke to support for the new technology.

“I think it's a big capital,” said Elisabeth Payne. “As a mother when I had a car accident […] You can be more ready to help me and help my children. “

“I mean, this is a big game changer,” added David Broome. “The policeman knows what he steps on before he arrives there.”

Officials said they hope that the function will improve public security by giving the first aiders the information they need – before they even arrive.
