The finance minister of Donald Trump, Scott Bessent, says that it is at China to select the trade voltages before a news information on Tuesday in the White House.

“I think it is up to China to de -escalate because they sell five times more to us than to them, and so it is not sustainable 120%, 145% tariffs,” said Scott Bessent during an interview on Monday at Business Channel CNBC.

Bessent moved the markets last week when he said in a private speech before JPmorgan Chase that he was expecting a deese escalation in the trade war because “no side is of the opinion that the status quo is sustainable”.
