Minneapolis (KFGO/AP) -The authorities arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with The fatal shootings Of four people in Minneapolis, and the city's police chief said it was probably another person who was killed the next day as a retribution.

The police said that the four people killed and another were seriously wounded by the several shootings, and the authorities suspect that the shootings were connected to a gang. However, police chief Brian O'Hara said during a press conference on Thursday that the authorities still examine the motifs behind the shootings.

The shootings shook a large indigenous community south of downtown Minneapolis. A 20-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were killed in the shootings on Tuesday. A 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old man died on Thursday evening. A 30-year-old man died at the shootout on Wednesday.

The first shootout took place shortly before midnight Tuesday. O'Hara said it was “completely likely” that the second shootout with a single victim was an answer to the three deaths, and he said someone else was responsible. It happened around Wednesday at 1 p.m., a little more than a mile northeast of a residential building in which the Minneapolis offices of the Red Lake Nation Tribe were built.

“But in addition, I can not speculate about ongoing beef,” said O'Hara.

The chief of police said the police believe that the shootings are related to the “lived experience” of the people in the region.

The US marshal service said its local refugee -task Force and an FBI Swat team arrested the suspect in the several shootings on Thursday afternoon. He was held in the Hennepin County prison and had not been charged from Thursday evening.
