Jazz Chisholm on IL in Yanke's injury blas

The Yankees will be Jr. for a while, as the team announced on Friday that the second Baseman was put on the 10-day IL with a right-wing strain.

The move is retrospectively until Wednesday, after Chisholm suffered an injury to Baltimore on Tuesday in a swing against Baltimore and later removed third place after a dive.

Jorbit Vivas was called back by Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Chisholm's place on the squad.

Chisholm hoped to avoid an IL stay that preferred to miss only a few games, but he was subjected to an MRI on Thursday, and the Yankees decided to injure it.

Pablo Reyes started in second place at the loss on Wednesday against Orioles.

Vivas was called back from Triple-A last year, but did not appear in any game.

“I'm really not as concerned as everyone else,” said Chisholm in Baltimore after the victory on Wednesday. “I feel pretty good. I have already torn my slopes, so I know that it is not torn or so. I can cough without pain. It was just careful not to try to exaggerate it. I would rather take two to three days off than six weeks.”

Depending on the severity of the injury, Chisholm could be back if he is justified in a little more than a week or it could be closer to a month.

Chisholm sagged a little last month, but was 6- against-22 in his last eight games with two basic hits.
