Zhailon Levingston heads the Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden and Adolph Green Musical.

The New York City Center Encores! Resuscitation of Wonderful city plays the venue in Manhattan by May 11th with Zhailon Levingston (Cats: “The Jellicle Ball”) Director. Addition! Music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell carries the encores! Orchestra for the musical comedy in the 1930s New York City.

Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (Caroline or change) and Aisha Jackson (Frozen) Co-star as Ruth and Eileen, two sisters who move from Ohio to Greenwich Village to make their NYC dreams come true.

You are by Jimmy Ray Bennett as an officer Lonigan, Etai Benson as Frank Lipcott, Allison Blackwell as Mrs. Wade, Dewitt Fleming Jr.

The Ensemble Features Jonathan Duvelson, David Foley Jr., Lindsay Roberts Greene, Marc Heitzman, Sarah Michele Lindsey, Kate Louissaint, Alicia Lundgren, Morgan Marcell, Robin Masella, Michael Olaribigbe, Patricia Phillips, Renée Reid, Samantha Siegel, Phumzile Sojola, Nicholas Ward, Jacob Keith Watson, Annaliese Wilbur and Richard Riaz Yoder. The casting takes place by the Bethany Knox of the Telsey Office.

With music by amber, texts by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and a book by Jerome Chodorov and Joseph A. Fields (adapted from their piece My sister EileenThe 1953 musical contained in 1953 short stories by Ruth McKenney. The show was last seen on Broadway in 2003, a revival that also started in the encores of the City Center! Series in 2000.

The creative team from Levingston also includes choreographer Lorin Latarro, TAP choreographer Ayodele Casel, the scenic designer Teresa L. Williams, the costume designer Linda Cho, the light designer Ben Stanton and the sound designer Megumi Katayama.

Rose, a Tony winner for their performance in the original production of Caroline or changeis perhaps the best known as the voice of Princess Tiana in Disney's animated The princess and the frog. She was last on Broadway in Uncle Vanya and received a tony nomination for their performance in A raisin in the sun.

In the revival, Jackson returns to the city center after the leading role as Linda in the Gala presentation from 2023 Buddy Joey. She was last seen at Broadway in The notebookWith their additional credits including It was once againPresent Paradise SquarePresent NicePresent waitressAnd Frozen.
