The 17-year-old shot at party in Merced County identified

Winton, California (KFSN) – The teenager who was shot during a party in Merced County at the weekend was identified.

The shootout occurred on Sunday at midnight in the Gertrude Avenue near North Winton Way in Winton.

The Merced County's office says that a 17-year-old, Carlos Ramirez Chaidez, was killed.

His sister came to the scene and saw her brother after being shot and asked him to live.

A first look at this quiet street in Winton does not show violence at the weekend, but you will find clues when you take a closer look.

Three teenagers who took part in a party had changed their lives forever.

“He just didn't deserve that at all. There are too many young victims here in Winton, and that happens every day, and there is no justice for her,” said Monique Ramirez, Sister Chaidez.

Ramirez was traveling with a friend when she got a call that her younger brother was on the floor in front of a barn and was shot into his thigh.

She hurried to his side and asked him to hold on.

“My brother couldn't tell me anything. He didn't answer. I just told him that I loved him and please don't leave me,” said Monique.

He was gone just a few hours later.

His mother said he told her to go to the fair with friends.

She had no idea that they were at a party instead.

Now she has to bury her only son.

Merced County's deputies answered the call on Sunday shortly before 1 a.m.

Three teenagers stood in front of a house in Gertrude and Winton when they were shot.

It seems that they don't know each other.

They were at the same party by chance and may not even be the goals.

“An unknown number of suspects appeared to shoot them. We do not know whether they are specifically aimed at the victims at this time or whether they may be aimed at the party itself”

Witnesses told the investigators that they heard gang -related unrest in front of the shootout, so that the incident could be connected to a gang.

Detectives say that the other two victims are both men aged 17 and 19, and they are expected to survive.

However, Chaidez 'family only has to live with memories and some hope.

“I hope you get what you deserve and I hope that God will take care of how he wants to take care of it and I hope that there is justice for my brother,” said Monique.

The Merced County's office says that a white car may have been involved in the shootings.

They believe that some people have left the party before the MPs arrived.

Anyone who has information about this shootout is asked to contact the Sheriff of the Merced County.
