Within the real -time criminal center of the FCPD – improvement of security with technology

Fairfax County, VA – The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) of the Fairfax County Police Department uses the latest technology to improve public security in the entire National Capital region. From searching for suspects to support with safer interactions in the community, the RTCC plays an important role in real -time monitoring every day.

Who we are

The real time of the FCPD, founded in April 2024, is the first in North Virginia. The RTCC is occupied around the clock and consists of a commander, two superiors, six detectives and an investigative adjutant.

The RTCC serves as a central turntable for the integration and use of several data and technology systems to build important partnerships in order to keep our communities safely.

What we do

The RTCC uses data for the license plate readers (LPR), community-based camera feeds and advanced analyzes to support real-time examinations. In close cooperation with patrol officers, the RTCC helps to identify and localize suspects and victims, and helps with real -time incidents.

Since its foundation, RTCC has supported over 6,500 cases in the region. In just the first three months of 2025, the RTCC received over 120 tips on the crime solder and supported the board of the Crime Solvers with a payment of over 5,000 US dollars of community members, whose information contributed to concluding active cases.

The effect

The real -time crime center is a power multiplier for the department, improves our reaction skills and enables the officials on site to make better decisions faster. While we continue to accept data -informed monitoring, the RTCC is at the top of our mission to improve security with technology.
