The Supreme Court of Illinois raised Smollets Hass Crime Shoe Confidence in November.

“Today we solve a question about the responsibility of the state to honor the agreements with the accused,” wrote the court in documents received by FOX News Digital at that time. “In particular, we deal with whether a dismissal of a case of Nolle Prosqui enables the state to bring a second law enforcement if the dismissal was concluded with the accused in the context of an agreement, and the accused carried out his part of the bargain.”

“We believe that a second criminal prosecution under these circumstances is a violation of a proper procedure, and we therefore turn the convict of the accused.”

While he was not found guilty in March 2019, he was charged in February 2020 for six new charges for the police. On February 5, 2024, Smollett submitted a legal remedy and requested the High Court of the Illinois High Court in his ongoing legal drama. The condemnation of the actor for A staged hate crime was confirmed in December 2023.

They repeated an argument from earlier appointments and said his trial against his fifth change protection against the double danger was violated or punished twice for the same crime. They said that he had already done civil service and had a bond of 10,000 US dollars as part of a contract from 2019 with the public prosecutor's office of the Cook County Prosecutor's office in order to fall the first 16 cases of disorganized behavior.

Smollett's legal team argued that the state had violated a “Nolle Prosa agreement” or a non-insurance agreement by attacking it again in the swing of hate crime. In the agreement, Smollett was announced that he could do civilian service, his bond expires, and the case would be rejected – similar to a punctured law enforcement. Instead, a Grand jury restored the indictment in 2020 and it was later convicted.

The indictment against Smollett was originally fallen in 2019. After the special prosecutor Kim Foxx applied for a new investigation, the “Empire” star was convicted of five crimes and later sentenced to 150 days in the district prison. The Supreme Court of Illinois decided that the special prosecutor's decision to resume Smollett due to charges violated his rights.

“Today we solve a question about the responsibility of the state to honor the agreements with the accused,” said Mark Geragos, lawyer of Smollett, to Fox News Digital at that time. “We believe that a second criminal prosecution under these circumstances is a violation of a proper procedure, and we therefore turn the convict of the accused.”

“This was not a law enforcement that was based on facts, but a vengeful persecution, and such a procedure has no place in our punitive justice system,” said another of Smollets lawyers, Nenye Uke, previously Fox in an explanation. “Ultimately, we are pleased that the rule of law was the big winner today. We are grateful to the Supreme Court of Illinois for the restoration of the order to the case law of Illinois.”
