Dji retirement Phantom 4, DJI Mavic 4 Lecks, Sifly released new drones, “Flying Squirrel” drone

Welcome to your weekly UAS news update. We have four stories for you this week: DJI officially ends the phantom line, Sifly publishes two new drones, the Q250 and the Q12, more leaks are created over the DJI Mavic 4, and the researchers develop a flying squirrel drone with foldable wings. Let us immerse yourself.

Dji Phantom Line in retirement

This week, the end of an era for one of the best -known drone series marks. DJI officially announced the retirement of his Phantom 4 Pro and Phantom 4 Advanced drones and completed the entire Phantom list. According to a current update on the DJI support page, this series, which defined air photography, assignment and more, leaves a permanent heritage. The phantom introduced many pilots, including me, into high -quality aerial establishment and stable flights and had been the standard for consumer drones for years. While it is sad to see the Phantom Go, DJI focused on the Mavic, Air, Mini and Matrice series for consumer and company markets. The effects of the phantom on the drone industry are still undeniable, and we hope that they will fly in the coming years.

New drones from Sci-Fly: Q12 and Q250

Sci-Fly has released two impressive drones: the Q12 and Q250. The Q12, a medium-sized drone, has an exceptional perseverance with 2 hours of continuous suspension spaces, 3 hours forward flight and a range of 90 miles while carrying a 10-pound protection load. The Q250, a heavy drone, supports a 200-pound protection load with 100 minutes of endurance. So far, both drones offer some of the best flight times for multi-rotor drones and are NDAA-compliant, so that they are suitable for companies that require compliant drones. Details on batteries, connecting links and payloads are not yet available. However, we will pass on updates on if SCI-Fly publishes more information.

DJI MAVIC 4 LECKS

The rumor mill buzzes with leaks over the potential DJI Mavic. While these leaks should be taken with skepticism, a fascinating detail is the mention of a new controller, the RC Pro 2, possibly with a vertical screen. This could improve the display options for certain flights, e.g. B. those that are optimized for social media with vertical camera orientations. However, some expected characteristics such as ProRes, electronic ND filters and RC track were reportedly canceled. The frequency of these leaks indicates an upcoming release, although delays may have occurred. We hope to see the Mavic 4 on the shelves soon.

Flying squirrel drone

Researchers at the PoHang University of Science and Technology (Postech) in South Korea have developed a drone inspired by flying squirrels. In contrast to typical quadcopters, this drone has foldable wings that improve mobility and enable sharp curves and fast delay in the air. These wings act like air brakes, imitate how flying squirrels slide and maneuver with their membranes or remember the ornithopter in dune. This bio -intended design is still pressing beyond the standard drone configurations in the research phase and could lead to drones that navigate more effectively in complex environments.
