At the annual conference of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in Los Angeles, California, the Eye Care Network met with Weijie Violet Lin, Md, subscription. Dr. Lin was an assistant professor at the Weill Cornell Department of Ophthalmology in New York and was previously Coradely Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Her presentation focused on a study on networking complications in the WILLS Eye Hospital over a period of 5 years, from 2018 to 2023. Research focused on continuing epithelium defects, cornea venatory and infiltrates.

Dr. Lin shared the knowledge of the complications, including the evaluation of socio -economic factors and their effects on the results of the patients. It also emphasized applicable clinical knowledge from research, e.g. B. pearls to prioritize patients with specific risk factors. “For some of the patients who have these factors we see, they are more connected to the development of complications, I would consider bringing these patients to the first line for EPI-on networking when it becomes available,” advises Dr. Lin.
