JRUE Holiday injury: Boston Celtics Coach gives update in front of the Knicks series

The status of Celtics Guard Jrue Holiday remains in the air in the second round of the Celtics against the New York Knicks. The 34-year-old exposed the last three games from Boston in Boston with a victory in Orlando Magic with a right knee tendon. Boston returned to training on Friday after two days after game 5, but Joe Mazzulla didn't reveal much in his update about the experienced security guard.

“Yes, day by day,” said Mazzulla. “He gets better every day. Do everything he can to ensure that he brings himself to the position to try to get back as soon as possible. He works hard.”

The vacation played 36 minutes in game 2 against Orlando on April 23, but appeared as questionable on the injury report before game 3. He was a scratch shortly before the tip and was later excluded before game 4 and 5.

The Celtics open against the Knicks on Monday evening in Boston, so he has 12 full rest days before he gets the opportunity to see the ground. Boston will publish the team's injury report on Sunday for game 1.

In the second round, the Celtics will probably have to rely much more on vacation than against a sad magical crime. Jalen Brunson spoke that the vacation is one of the toughest defenders with whom he was faced in the league this season, and Boston will try to slow down the all-star of the Knicks together with a charged support message.

The vacation also acquired some awards during its downtime and received the NBA Sportsmanship Award on Thursday.

“He is a great guy,” said Derrick White. “Someone to whom they look up. He just does it right. He does not want to praise or recognition. He is definitely one of the best people in this game. Obviously he is a great player, but the person he is is incredible. I learned so much from him and his family. I loved having him in this team.”

The vacation will be one of several Celtics players who can be seen from the point of view of the injury when they organize the Knicks in game 1 on Monday evening in the TD Garden.
