Man arrested for murder to Fentanyl overdose death on New Year's Eve

Hays County, Texas – a man was arrested for murder after a death of Fentanyl in Hays County.

On December 31, 2024, the MPs responded to a call and no longer found a 50-year-old man. According to Hays County's Sheriff, he was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation showed that his death is related to the use of fentanyl. The MPs identified the fentanyl dealer as 28-year-old Alan Steve Rodriguez.

In a separate examination of the narcotics, MPs fentanyl, cocaine, THC, marijuana and several firearms.

Rodriguez is now exposed to several charges, including crimes for the production/childbirth of a controlled substance (CT I and CT II), a second degree crime for possessing a controlled substance, a second degree crime for the illegal stretching of a weapon by a weapon and a class that have to be owned by Marijuana.

On March 26, 2025, the MPs arrested Rodriguez and booked him in connection with the death of the overdose to Hays County's prison.

Rodriguez is currently in custody in the Hays County prison with a total bond of $ 777,000, including $ 500,000 for the murder system and a violation of the probation of Travis County.
