Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 chipset leaked, is it Snapdragon or Exynos?

Samsung's next foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, can have a surprise under the bonnet. According to the latest leaks, the phone could include Samsung's Exynos 2500 chipset instead of the expected Qualcomm processor instead of the expected Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This would be a big change for the Galaxy Z series because in the past it has always rely on Snapdragon chips. If it turns out that this is true, it would mark the first time that Samsung used his in -house processor in one of his foldable phones. The move could help the company to reduce costs and gain more control over its hardware.

A report by The chosun daily Allegations that Samsung had decided to continue the Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This chip was developed by Samsung's System LSI Division and is based on its own 3-nanometer gate-araund process (GAA). Production is expected to begin in May, with over 200,000 units of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 ready before the end of June. The phone is expected to be officially announced at Samsung's next Galaxy Explacked Event in July.

There were earlier rumors that Samsung would remain at Qualcomm due to concerns about the low production return and performance of the Exynos 2500. Actually, Wccftech I reported that a trial version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 had already passed internal tests with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. However, the new report indicates that Samsung now believes that the production of Exynos Chip is stable enough for commercial publication.

Sources quoted by The chosun daily Suppose the decision could also be based on pricing. Since Qualcomm reports its chip prices per year by more than 20 percent, Samsung may turn to Exynos to save costs. Since the foldable of the Galaxy Z series are generated in a lower number compared to the Galaxy S series, the associated risk is also lower.

Interestingly, it is expected that the Galaxy Flip 7 Exynos Exynos, the Premium -Galaxy Z Fold 7 still looks on a flagship -snapdragon chip with the Snapdragon 8 elite, shows that Samsung is pursuing a mixed approach. This could also give Samsung a certain influence if they negotiate future shops with Qualcomm.

The use of the Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could help Samsung to gain valuable experience with its 3NM GAA process, which is still relatively new. Experts believe that this experience could contribute to improving earnings for future chips, including the upcoming 2NM processors.

Professor Kim Yong-Seok from Gachon University said that Samsung can lay the basics for better results for the next generation of mobile processors by focusing on 3NM chip production.
