What can be seen in sports this week: Playoffs, Champions League Semis and 151. Kentucky Derby

“I have a color TV so that I can see how the Knicks Basketball play,” Sugarhill Gang's Big Bank Hank bent in 1979. Almost every century later almost everyone has a flat screen (if not a full fleet of devices from which you can stream). Better, we can prepare for more than just the New York Knicks, although the Stunner was worth a lot in Detroit on Sunday.

The national TV slate this week is absolutely invited, from the nightly NBA and NHL night season look to racing events in the main stage (Miami Grand Prix from F1 and the 151st race of the Kentucky Derby). We also receive two banger matchups in the semi -finals of the Champions League, a prime time view of the Los Angeles Dodgers Superteam and the unofficial WNBA debut by Paige Bueckers. Let us know what we sleep for the upcoming week and of course make sure that you jump up the boogie.

The whole week

NBA playoffs

The NBA organized a show on Saturday and Sunday. All of this went back over a weekend:

  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander called Game and Series with his icy dagger-thunder 117, Grizzlies 115
  • Karl-Anthony cities ate in the clutch, then the RefS swallowed the Pfeif-Knicks 94, Pistons 93
  • Anthony Edwards left a decisive impression by Luka and LeBron on the edge of the Bergkapfels-Wolves, Lakers 113 in his 43-point efforts after late season
  • Aaron Gordon has … um, what is done now?!

The action this week continues to roll. Kat and the Knicks return to the most famous arena in the world to find a series closer. The Lake Show and its starry cast are annoying near the break in the early season. LA and Denver should be allowed to play a full 10 games. This week there is two and four playoff games every evening. Set your laser accordingly.

Stanley Cup Playoffs

Hockey saw the frenetic weekend of professional basketball, laced the ice skates and went to Annie Oakley on her. Wick back the tape:

  • Evan Bouchard forced on Sunday with only 29 seconds, then Leon Draisaitl's Power Play Slapshot secured a strenuous W-Oilers 4, kings 3 (OT)
  • Ivan Barbashev may have Las Vegas' first first place campaign with his triumph on Saturday afternoon with the series saved with the series 4, Wild 3 (OT)
  • Jake Sanderson's long-term wrist shot put the top seed toronto and the appreciated Ottawa down the route. It was the third overtime -finish of the series – Senatorers 4, Maple Leaf 3 (OT)

The ever-chaotic NHL late season is all week and it gives us several games on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In Monday, four different series were knotted 2-2.

UEFA Champions League -semi -final | Arsenal against PSG (3 PM ET, CBS)

“In the last few weeks of this season, we could be so spectacular that we forget almost everything that came before the procedure. In this regard, football is a strange game. We sometimes suffered this season. It has the feeling that everything went against us and it was not our year. But suddenly there is this way to open up in front of us.

Sometimes it defies the analysis. Arsenal feel their moment, feel their chance and it is difficult not to agree. Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals and what a tie it promises. London and Paris, Arsenal, historically with the entire French legacy of the club. PSG was in a brilliant form and was excellent against Liverpool and Aston Villa. But Arsenal are the Vanquisher of Real Madrid, the conquerors of the owners and maybe favorites at that time. If you turn off Madrid, it is very difficult to release this idea. ” – James McNicholas in handbrake

Wednesday

UEFA Champions League -semi -final | Barcelona against Inter Milan (3 PM ET, CBS)

“The first bars of ColdPlays 'Viva La Vida' sound and Barcelona's fans knew wildly. There may be more than half of the players on the field. Some because they weren't in Barcelona in 2009, others, others, because they were less than five years old. This Coldplay song was the soundtrack for Pep Guardiola, and since his department it has not been played.

The news was clear: this team from Barcelona has a special aura again. You won the Spanish super cup in January against Real Madrid-against which you scored 12 goals in three games this season, you have now won the Copa del Rey, you are the top of the La Liga and you are in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

In the coming weeks we will find out what will happen in European competition when you are with Inter. They are very well positioned in domestic competitions. And what is most surprising is that in April there is talk of a height, considering that this season should give a transitional speech. ” – Laia Cervelló Herrero

Thursday

2025 FIFA Beach World Cup (various games on Universo starts at 6:50 a.m.)

Here is a cool change in the pace for the sporty schedule and a suitable way to initiate some early summer vibrations. This year's tournament is the 13th edition of the Suntaned International Competition and the first to be held in Africa. It takes place in Victoria, the capital of the Republic of Seychelles, and the Mahé coast will offer a quiet and majestic environment. The 16-team campaign begins on Friday, May 1st, and runs until Sunday, May 11th. Brazil is the reigning champion and the most decorated program in Beach Soccer with six titles in 22 years.

Friday

WNBA pre -season | Dallas Wings against Las Vegas Aces (7:00 p.m. ET, Ion)

All-Galaxy talent Paige Bueckers was simply sensational in her career as a women's basketball career. She was a unanimous all-American, a pioneering personality and a graceful national champion. Next comes the W, a league that is becoming increasingly popular and quickly expands its talent pool. Working in the pre -season does not count for statistics or records, fair enough, but a first look at Bueckers in their Dallas threads is worth being seen. A'ja Wilson's aces are among the best in the game. Arike Ogunbowale will take Bueckers under her wings (Wings), and Dijonai Carrington should take another step forward and have more distance on the floor.

Saturday

151. Kentucky derby (Reporting begins at 2:30 p.m.; Post time at 6:57 p.m. ET, NBC)

D. Wayne Lukas, a four -time winner of the Kentucky Derby, sat in the front row. A few rows back and sat seven times winner Bob Baffert, in Louisville, to ban his first derby after a three -year -old. About the corridor from Baffert, Michael McCarthy, coach of this year's favorite, journalism, sat under his daughter, Stella.

And on the other side of the setup for the derby, a person stood in a horse head and jockey silk, hooves on the ankles and casually hanged on a high-top rod table. The Derby Week officially started with the perfect mix of the Splendid and the absurd here on Saturday evening.

The 151st Run for the Roses mingled with the sublime evening and made up for business, with the postal positions for the 20-hp field. Journalism, which was planned by Odd's Maker Mike Battaglia as a 3-1 favorite, took the eighth position, a random place in the history of the derby. Nine winners come from the 8-point, the second largest place in the field. Only two more horses earned single-digit profit opportunities, sovereignty with 5: 1 and Sandman at 6-1. However, both are outdoors in the 17 and 18 posts, the crowd moaning when their positions were announced. ” – Dana O'Neil

Sunday

Miami Grand Prix (4 PM ET, ABC and ESPN Deportes)

“Each Formula 1 race has its own identity.

Monaco is known for its history. Circuit of the Americas is the American route for Motorsport fans. Las Vegas included the shine and glamor of sport. However, the identity of the Grand Prix of Miami is complicated because the world of the F1 merges with the culture of a living city that is known for its food, its art and nightlife.

It is a race where people want to be seen, with celebrities and influencers who flood the campus. And it is outrageous in Miami that merge the racing product with high-end entertainment and local culture. The number of visitors continues to grow every season, even if the number of spectators decreases in 2023. This year the race set a record for the Liveus television audience when Lando Norris secured his first F1 victory. However, this does not mean that Florida's F1 race has escaped criticism, whether the route in the first year or the introduction of the exaggerated drivers in the second year.

However, Miami and F1 made the right balance in the third year. ” – Madeline Coleman

Los Angeles Dodgers against Atlanta Braves (7 p.m. ET, ABC and ESPN Deportes)

We appreciate the institution of “Sunday Night Baseball” before leaving us behind at the end of the 2025 season. Yes, roll the music!

This sells. It is Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman (each with an MVP trophy) against Austin Riley, Ozzie Albies, Marcell Ozuna and Matt Olson (all former Silberlugger). Atlanta has a nightmarish start and takes off its first seven games, but the hosts start this week with a more respectable 12-15 record. LA is the reigning World Series title list and the team that you have to be beaten.
