NBA announces 75 invitations for 2025 Draft combine

Today (via Twitter), the NBA announced that 75 interested parties were invited to take part in this year's draft of the combination, which will take place in Chicago from May 11th to May 18th.

In addition to these 75 players, a handful of outstanding players from the G League Elite Camp, which also takes place in Chicago shortly before the combine starts, will receive invitations to consider themselves the main event.

Not all potential customers invited to the combine will remain in the 2025 design basin, since many early participants test the water and at the same time maintain their NCAA authorization.

At the end of the day on May 28th, the college players will have to withdraw from the draft if they want to preserve this authorization, while non-college players are faced with a decision period of June 15. The feedback you receive from NBA teams from the combine harvester can be a decisive factor for players who are on the fence.

It is worth noting that the NBA and the NBPA have approved some changes in connection with combine harvesters in their latest collective agreement. Here are some of these changes:

  • A player who is invited to the draft combines and rejects it without participating in an apologized absence is not entitled to be drawn in. The following year he would be entitled to participate in the combine harvester. It is made exceptions for a player whose Fiba season continues, who is injured or who deals with a family matter (e.g. a tragedy or the birth of a child).
  • Players who participate in the design of the combine must undergo a physical examinations, share the medical history, participate in strength, mobility and performance tests, participate in drills drills, receive anthropometric measurements and carry out interviews with teams and media. Scrimmages will not be mandatory.
  • The medical results from the combination are distributed to selected teams based on the place where the player is forecast to design. Only teams that end up in the top 10 are given access to medical information for projected No. 1 selection. The teams in the top 15 receive medical information for players in the 2-6 area, while teams in the top 25 access to information for the players in the 7-10 area would be given.
