Seven killed in a 2-vehicle street crash near Yellowstone

A passenger car with more than a dozen tourists collided with a pickup in a fiery motorway accident near Yellowstone National Park and killed seven people, reported Idaho State Police today.

The cause of the wreck, which took place on Thursday evening about an hour and 15 minutes before sunset, remains examined according to a press release from the state police.

The Mercedes passenger car transported a tour group with a total of 14 inmates in the vehicle near Henry's Lake when he collided with a Dodge Ram pickup with only the driver on board and opened in flames.

According to the police, six people were killed from the van and the driver of the pickup. Information about the victims was kept confidential until the notification of the next Kin.

The accident occurred on the US Highway 20 near Henry's Lake in the east of Idaho, about 20 miles west of Yellowstone National Park.

The state police said that the Highway 20 had been closed in both directions for almost seven hours, while emergency and transport teams worked to manage the scene and clear the street.
