Woman killed, two more injured by frontal collision in Roanoke

A woman was killed in an accident with two vehicles in Roanoke on Friday afternoon.

Shortly after 4 p.m., officials from the Roanoke Police Department reacted to the 3100 block of the Peters Creek Road NW to report a crash.

According to the department, the driver of the first vehicle, an older woman, died at the crime scene.

RPD said a man and a woman from the second vehicle were brought to a local hospital to treat her injuries. There was no severity of her injuries.

In his first examination, the department said that the first vehicle drove on the wrong side of the street when it hit the second vehicle head -on.

The victim's identity has not yet been published. RPD said the crash continues to be examined.
