After losing Jimmy Butler against injuries, it looked as if the Warriors were difficult in game 3 of the series. Instead, Stephen Curry all reminded why he is one of the best in the world and scored 36 points to reach seven rebounds, nine assists and two blocks to help Golden State win 104-93. The Warriors gathered defensively behind Draymond Green and held the rockets for only 39.5% of the field for the game and 33.3% in the decisive fourth quarter. For game 4, Butler is listed as daily and a decision for playing time.

The Rockets felt much better in terms of their chances after the Warriors (109-94) were balanced with 1-1, but fell completely flat late in game 3 when they had the chance to steal home court. Houston had an 84-83 lead with 5:47 in the game before it was missing and out of date ruined the hope they had from a victory. Five Rockets scored in two figures for the game, led by Fred Vanvleets 17 points and Alperen Senguns 15.
