Red Sox teammate offers support after the “terrible” injury to Triston Casas

Boston Red Sox's first Baseman, Triston Casas, suffered an “significant” injury on Friday.

Casas, who tried to hit a slow roller to the right of the hill, fell to the dirt when he reached the first base and immediately reached his left knee. Red Sox manager Alex Cora immediately took care of him together with members of the training staff before a car and a carrier were brought into the field to support him from the field

It is the type of scene that they would normally only see in a football or rugby game, which it made all the more frightening for its teammates.

“Terrible,” said Alex Bregman after the game, as can be seen on NESN. “Obviously we all think of him and hope for the best. Great teammate, and you hate seeing that. We are all thinking of him.”

Bregman, who had the way to the lead in a win over the Minnesota twins, found it difficult to concentrate on the game after the Jarring scene.

“It's hard,” said Bregman. “We are a big family here who comes to the baseball stadium every day and see how one of her boys goes down, it is really difficult.”

Casas was clearly shocked in relation to the incident and wore an unaffected look when he was invited to the car and taken from the field – even a small smile flashed into a Fenway Park while he was rolled by the warning distance.

“(We were all) just shocked,” said Cora. “You don't expect that. And when you see the card, you are (recognizing):” Oh … that's more than a twisted ankle “or something like that.”

After the game, Cora said that the organization would present further updates on Saturday. It is unlikely that you will soon find a full -time rate, but the expectation is that in the meantime more versatile depth will be added to the active squad. Vaughn Grissom and Nick Sogard are the two most likely candidates who receive the call to Casas' absence.
