The neighbors described as a nice and caring boy and said that 12-year-old Anthony Esposito was taken too early.

“I know he learns to play drums,” said Mary Lou Woods. “He was more into the arts, not too much sport, but he was a sweet little boy.”

Woods lives next to the family in the Hemlock Road. She said the family had held for herself, but the son Anthony was often outside.

“He sat behind us in the deck, but he would say that he did it because he wanted to get away from screaming. I heard screams, increased voices next door.”

Paul Vincent Rapisarda, another neighbor in the condominium complex, described Anthony as nice, friendly and gracious.

“After 12 there was so much more to explore,” he said.

The police arrested the boy's father, Anthony Esposito Jr., because of murder on his son on Thursday. He appeared in court on Friday.

Meghan Scanlon from Connecticut Coalition against domestic violence said this incident was followed by a worrying trend that the agency has determined in recent years.

“As a rule, they were actually non-biological children who were killed, but in recent years there have been biological children,” she said. “Every time there is a murder, a murder of violence in the family, it is heartbreaking.

She adds that since pandemic has increased an increase in children at home or has testimony at home.

There are consultants with whom students can speak to the Walsh Intermediate School on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
