Trump continued and suggested the New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York, as a candidate as the next Pope. Dolan was viewed as Trump's preferred cardinal and delivered traditional prayers at both openings.

“I have to say we have a cardinal who happens to be in a place called New York that is very good,” said Trump.

On May 1st, Trump signed an executive regulation in which the “Religious Freedom Commission” was laid down, and named Cardinal Dolan as one of the people who will act as a member.
