Frau dangles on the edge of a waterfall in viral video (exclusive)

  • Bailey Roach booked a trip with a group to visit the Devil's pool in Africa.
  • There she was on the edge of a waterfall with only leaders who held her feet to keep her off the edge.
  • She informed her experiences with Tikkok and the video of the nerve -wracking moment gained 3.2 million views.

Would you sit on the edge of a waterfall if only strangers keep their legs?

Bailey Roach and a group of travelers did it. The 33-year-old Roach, a self-proclaimed thrill, went to the devil's pool in Victoria Falls between Sambia and Zimbabwe, Africa. The Devil's pool is a natural rock pool with over 132 million gallons water that cascaded every minute over the waterfalls. It is a 320-foot drop from the edge to the floor, so that thrill searchers come to the edge as close as possible as you can safely.

“It was a man who held my ankle and I am only a few centimeters from the edge of one of the largest waterfalls in the world,” says Roach exclusively to people. “It is risky, but nobody died, so I felt safe to this extent. I was on a group trip with other solo travelers and we did it.”

Roach shared her experiences in Devil's Pool on Tiktok. Her video collected 3.2 million views, with many commented on how scary activity looks. She also shared a video behind the scenes with the full group.

“It is an activity that you can do if you only visit Victoria Falls in the dry season, and even during the week we went, it rained, so I didn't even know if we could do it,” she continues. “It is not accessible all the time, so it's a really cool unique experience. I would do it again and it looks as scary as it was.”

The Devil's pool is located on Livingstone Island and is only accessible during the dry season. The pool does not exist during the rainy season because the running rapids cover it. To get to the pool, they have to cross heavy rapids, and Roach reports that this was one of the few moments when she was “fear” and blocked her hands with the other travelers.

“I was only five feet big, so I couldn't touch the ground in certain places. There was a beautiful gentleman in our group and he held me through the rapids,” said Roach. “The only thing you can stop after these rapids are two ropes that you can grasp. The leaders follow before you and behind.

She shares her advice for travelers who saw the video and are afraid that Roach was so close to the edge.

“My advice for travelers is to research first. If you are afraid, there is an option for non-gratic swimmers. The workers and employees there are very easy to say:” If you don't feel comfortable, you don't. “You are firmly of security,” says Roach. “I would definitely do a few research over the season and not let myself be held back because it was an incredible experience.”

Roach announced that she had come across this trip from the Travel-Blogger @Mylifesatravelmovie on Instagram and booked the entire experience on her planned journey. Until she saw the travel route, Roach hadn't heard of the devil's pool. It inspired her to travel and explore outside of her comfort zone.

“Discover outside of the United States. Many people would not even think that Africa is anything but safaris, but there are so many beautiful things in culture,” said Roach. “I want to put Zambia and Zimbabwe in the spotlight because I would have the feeling that I would not have known if it weren't for the travel blog.”
