Fatal crash on Bluff Road in early Saturday – Republic -Times

The fire brigade of Waterloo and Columbia answered with Monroe County Ems shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday for a rollover accident with a rollover with serious injuries on the bluff road near Harres Lane north of the Hannover Road.

One person was declared dead at the crime scene, while another was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.

A medical helicopter was asked for transport, but was later canceled.

The Illinois State Police reacted to the scene for the reconstruction of accidents, which led to the Bluff Road closed to the traffic north of the Hannover Road until it was reopened at 6:20 a.m.

In a press release from the Sheriff department of the Monroe County, which was also one of the responding agencies, it was found that a 2023 jeep with two residents was involved in the crash. The answer was supported by several good Samariters, the police said.

While the ISP examination continues, preliminary details indicate that the driver was a 53-year-old man from Valmeyer. He was taken to a hospital and is listed in a critical condition.

The passenger, a 46-year-old Valmeyer woman, died at the crime scene.

The MCSD said it was currently not known what the vehicle prompted to leave the street.
