Austin's police officer, who was killed in an official motorcycle accident

A police officer from Austin in Austin died early Saturday after a motorcycle accident in Comal County, said officials.

Detective Israel Garcia died to the police department of Austin of Chief Lisa Davis, according to an e -mail. He was declared dead in a hospital in San Marcos.

Details of the crash were not immediately known. It remains examined.

“Anyone who knew Izzy – we called him Izzy – always knew that he was one of the most happy people who always had a positive attitude,” said Michael Bullock, President of Austin Police Association. “I don't think he has ever hit a stranger with which he could not be good friends. He will be missing very much.”

Garcia was most recently assigned to work with a Rapid Response team in the city center.
