Scheffler rattled six birdies on his inner nine to shoot an 8-below 63-and-best 36-hole score of 124 to shoot-a blow that connects the 36-hole opening resistance of all time on the tour.

The game was suspended due to darkness at 8:06 p.m. CT, so that several players could end their rounds on Saturday morning. But Scheffler had already made a name for himself. His 36-hole score secured a commander with six shots in the third round.
