On April 17, a majority of the House of Representatives in Texas voted for the legislation. A week later, the senators approved Senate Bill 2, who passed on the draft law to the governor so that he could sign.

In its first year, the school voucher program would be limited to $ 1 billion and used by up to 90,000 students, but by 2030 it could grow to almost 4.5 billion dollars a year.

The money can be used for private school lessons or costs for homeschooling and virtual learning programs. Families could accommodate up to 10,000 US dollars per student per year, and a student with disabilities would be considered for up to $ 30,000 per year.
