Agent: Eklund 'stable' after scary injury

Hopefully William Eklund can take relief. But he's not yet out of the forest.

The winger of San Jose Sharks, who represents team sweds, seemed to be tailored to the Czech Republic on the left wrist from a Filip Hronek skate in a tune-up game.

Sportbladet reported that the star of San Jose Sharks was brought to a local hospital for further evaluation. The game was played in Brno, the Czech Republic.

“He is stable,” said Todd Diamond, Agent von Eklund, now San Jose Hockey. “Looks as if it hadn't cut key tendons or nerves at the moment.”

This is a promising first report when you consider how bad the injury looked, but it still sounds like waiting.

The World Championships begin on May 9 in Stockholm, Sweden and Herning, Denmark.

It should be a return tournament for the playmaker of 22-year-old San Jose Sharks, but that is not the largest for anyone at the moment.
