The Idaho police publish new details about crashes in which 7 was killed near Yellowstone

Island Park, Idaho – soldiers say that they are still working with international authorities to notify tourists after an accident between a pickup and a passenger car on Thursday evening, in which seven people in the southeast of Idaho were dead.

The Mercedes van was registered with Couror Holiday LLC, a global travel company with a US basis in California. The driver of the van was also licensed in California, while the van wore 12 people from China and a person from Italy, the Idaho state police said on Saturday.

The van was run on a trip organized by the company to Yellowstone National Park.

“Due to the international character of those involved, the process is complex and will take additional time,” wrote the agency in an update. “As part of the study, the deceased is brought to the Coroner's Office of the Ada County to the autopsy and formal confirmation of identity. This step is important to ensure precise identification and documentation.”

Emergency crews responded to a report on a crash on the US Highway 20 near Henry's Lake in Fremont County, Idaho, shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday. According to the authorities, a black Chevrolet Silverado Pickup 2021, who was driven by 25-year-old Isaiah Moreno from Humble, Texas, collided with the passenger car, which then caught fire.

Moreno and six people in the van were killed. According to reports, the spectators helped the first aiders to pull injured people out of the burning van. Eight other people in the van were injured, including three who were flown to hospitals in Idaho and Montana. Their conditions were not released.

It is still unclear what caused the crash that will continue to be examined.

Idaho Troopers added on Saturday that they continued to work “closely with Chinese and Italian consules” while the investigation continues, as well as Courer holidays.
