Carmelo Anthony joins NBC Sports as an NBA studio analyst when the league returns to the network

While NBC is preparing to win the NBA back for the first time in more than two decades, the network is putting a decorated analyst. Carmelo Anthony, a 10-time NBA All-Star and member of the Naishith Basketball Hall of Fame 2025 class, will take part in the NBC Sports league from next season next season, the network announced on Saturday.

Anthony confirmed the news on social media with a video of highlights, both from Anthony's career and from NBA over the years.

Anthony's new role was introduced during the reporting by NBC via the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. The former striker said he was excited to “get back to a team -oriented” environment.

“Talking about the game, speaking the game. I found out what the 'why' is,” said Anthony when he was asked what he was most looking forward to. “The game within the game has to be talked about.”

Anthony spent 19 years in the NBA and built a decorated career in several different teams, although he is best known for his time with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. Anthony also earned three Olympic gold medals and bronze medal as a member of the US men's basketball team.

He retired in 2022 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in the first year, in which he was justified.
